I don't really like the PeOn$ thing. I know it has something to do with pete and onslaught. But pete is gay, and ons doesnt even play anymore.

I totally agree about changing the name back. But it probably won't happen because Nort won't agree to any sort of changes. But I say, at least name the Wolf 2 server <IoW> - because we have a better chance of bringing back some old friends from the past in the new game - they don't know what the hell PeOn$ is....

I agree with changing the name back completely. Although, I would suggest putting a banner on the server for a few weeks to a month about the name changing although the IP staying the same and give the IP. I was actually going to suggest this a month or more ago. People don't join the server just because it says Pe0n$, it's because they're looking for a server to play on or it's a server they frequent already anyway. I doubt that small little bit of name changing will make much a difference. I kind of miss the "XP -> Save" arrow.

The reason we lost a lot of people before were the settings changes and the IP change with no warning. People didn't start to come back because the name changed, but because they found the IP again and it was getting more stable with no changes.

....to add insult to injury, that server did exist out there because the config files had been copied over when it was converted to 2.55. So really, if you scoured the server list you'd see "<IoW> XP->Save", but it was pointing to the secondary server IP running 2.55 and sitting empty 100% of the time.

I noticed this on the splatterladder app when I was removing it last week to put the wolfenstein 2 stuff up.

I can add the wolf2 to the server name of the new server, as that is still under construction for configs, etc...

Beck is right in that I wont be messing with the server name on the ET side. That server is stable and not going to be changed.

The name change has more to do with the fact that we need a name we can use across games.

I want a similar name for all games we are in. IoW Peons it is.
