how long it been since you play etpro? etpro doesnt use a RIP sound for a headshot. it uses the PING that we have on our etpub, i specificaly grabbed the etpro headshot sound and made he pk3 soundpak so that i could use it.

hit sounds might be a client-side issue though, cause I have them on our pub server. They're different, not the same ping noise as on pro, but you can certainly hear when you get a HS on our pub server. I can't tell you what setting it would be, cause I'm not a settings-geek-tweaker .

I had not FINISHED my post, gentlemen. I prefer the TING of etpro, so if you can tell me how to get that on pub, then I'm a happy camper. The rip was on the Pub servers. I HATE that sound. Currently on your pub server a headshot (for me) is a crisp ripping sound.

do you have downloads turned off? you should have a iowsound pak, cant think of hte name. but sounds like you didnt get the sound pak download which would change the headshot to be the TING of etpro i prefer that also was one of the first things i changed. Couldnt distinguish a body shot from a headshot too well with the dam etpub RIP.

check etmain for a iowsnd.pk3 file, that is what you need.

ok, so what ive gathered is "the speed as it is, is the default setting for etpub" then what i mean is change it to default for pro then. people will hardly notice a speed change if we drop it lower. and if they do notice it, we're the same as 92% of all the other servers, no one will have a problem. if it doesnt change anything, raise it back up if you feel... our server is the only server ive experience such aiming difficulties, regardless of the skill of others....

i am not exactly sure what you mean by "speed" i would need a specific cvar here for what you are speaking about.

etpro uses antiwarp. etpub has some skip correction that we dont have turned on that is supposed to smooth out a person but there are 2 versions of it you can enable so im not to sure about that, anything that is not standardized and comes in 2 flavors for one install i kinda hesitate to try

Can you just send me an http URL to download that file to my machine so I don't have to worry about it. I'm serious...that will improve my experience so much on tons of servers. I HATE that rip sound.

I have the rip sound too, and have recently uninstalled (deleted ALL files) and reinstalled ET, and still don't have the ETPro "ping" sound for HS on our pub server....

My point exactly. Just reinstalled myself, ALWAYS have downloads on. Never had it downloaded. You sure you didn't just copy it manually since you have access to all the server files?

I'll try and get you the URL tonight, if I can - my FTP access is blocked from work so I can't browse the folders - LOL.

yeah i will hook u up the url tonight when i get home. but it wont change the hit sounds on other pubs, only ours.
ill delete the file from my etmain and make sure it downloads again. a sound pak is PER server thing. guess that means you will love ours all the more
